The sports life of Russia is one of the most successful in the world in the number of outstanding athletes and coaches, in terms of the quantity and quality of the won awards, in terms of the level of competitions, in terms of activity of fans at international and national tournaments, it is filled with unique traditions and vivid achievements. I consider it important to preserve for future generations examples of the greatest sports feats of our compatriots and the amazing stories of their ascents to the pedestal.

And sincerely glad to present you a new book about the legends of Russian sports, in which you will find exclusive materials about their life and a sports career, unique photos from personal archives. It is based on real biographical facts, detailed information about various Russian and world sports events, comments and opinions of authoritative sport experts.

For many years, employees of the International United Biographical Center Association have sought to fulfill a difficult and incredibly interesting task-to collect materials about our compatriots-outstanding Soviet-Russian athletes, coaches, public figures in sports organizations of our country, the most striking sports events in the world. Personal communication with athletes from different regions of Russia contributed to obtaining the most reliable information about their life and achievements.

We managed to form a collection of exclusive photographs, which captured rare moments of competitions in different sports. Famous sports journalists, commentators, experts, and relatives of athletes provided invaluable assistance in this work. The idea to publish a book on the legendary personalities of Russian sports was implemented thanks to the support of the Ministry of Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy of the Russian Federation and the agency of the agency.
