It is translated approximately as "intoxicated by hash." These guys became famous during the Crusades, when the crusaders chained in the armor with fire and sword conquered the lands of the East. Not wanting to become slaves, the Assassins, dug by a drug, killed knights with particular cruelty. However, they did not leave alive either. Such a self -sacrifice for the sake of the highest goal was the norm for them.
Later they began to be used as hired killers, and after some time the term covered all killers in general. And the hero of this material is no exception. Then, unknown, the guys decided to create their own shooter, without unnecessary pathos and special effects, just to practice. We just wanted to prove the team’s ability to release the game ” - Jacob Andersen at that time the developers noticed Danish actor David Bace David Bateson.
Initially, only a voice was required of him. But his appearance seemed to IOI employees so colorful that it was decided to use it. And the team set to work. One of the first to create a level with a shoot from the laboratory. Our still not even the agent ran away from the place where he was artificially grown, killed a guard along the way and changed into his clothes. This mechanics seemed so interesting to the developers that they abandoned the initial idea in favor of a more elegant gameplay based on stealth.
Around the same time, the studio realized that without the help of a professional they would not be able to realize a new idea. So the producer of Thief 2 Jonas Enorot Jonas Eneroth, who only finished his previous project, joined the team. The beginning of the creative path Hitman: Codename 47 fell on store shelves in November. According to the plot, in E, five people from different parts of the world served together in the French foreign legion.
After the resignation, one of them, Otto Wolfgang Ortmeier, discovered a psychiatric hospital in Romania, where he conducted experiments related to genetics. The purpose of the scientist was to create an ideal soldier, for which five former colleagues donated their genetic material. The public rightly considered the works of the scientist Eugenica, and he himself - a psychopath, but he did not even think of stopping experiments.
The number was tattered on his back of his head - the date of birth, 04 - the series number, 01 - class, 47 - serial number of the clone. He grew up a quiet and closed child, and committed the first murder at the age of 12. His victim was another clone created by Ortmeier. In the same year, the boy tried to escape from the hospital, but his plan was unsuccessful. He spent the next 10 years in zealous training, developing the body and skills of handling weapons.
In the year, Ortmeier enlisted GO to the International Contract Agency, which is engaged in the elimination of people. There, the agent met Diana Burnwood - his coordinator and the only friend. The game was a stealth shuther for 27 episodes, where each murder took place in a unique location. Fans of shooting here were brutally punished: there were few cartridges, but there were a lot of enemies to the sounds of shots.
But lovers of silence encouraged in every possible way, giving unique methods of murder. Stuff the victim or add poison? Or maybe pretend to be a service staff and poke a knife under the rib? There were a lot of options, although the Codename 47 gameplay could not be called smooth: there were no checkpoints at the levels, and gamers almost filed some missions from the prohibitive complexity.
But they still played - and asked again. The soundtrack deserves a separate praise: Jesper Kud Jesper Kyd wrote atmospheric music. If the melachonia, seasoned with a mental disorder, could be portrayed in notes, then it would look that way. Küd, by the way, remained faithful to the series for a long time: up to the Blood Money itself. Unfortunately, it is impossible to find out how much the first part has earned.
There is no open -access sales data. However, by how quickly the studios allocated money for the sequel, we can say that sales were at least good. A series of great achievements at the end of Codename 47 agent became a novice in the monastery somewhere in Sicily, after which he was engaged in a garden and tried to build harmony within himself. But this did not last long.The local mafia abducted the abbot - father of Wittorio, and our agent had to try on the famous suit again and get a couple of faithful pistols from the cache.
Gameplain's second part almost did not differ from the first, but the details in it increased. The mercenary arsenal was replenished with new weapons and consumables: for example, now it was possible to strew with the chloroform groaning by the guard. And what was the opportunity to take a walk along the virtual Peter? Cranberries, of course, were plenty of, but the level still turned out to be excellent.
And it was in this part that the so -called passage assessment appeared. In the next part, Hitman: Contracts, nothing was particularly interesting. Those who want to argue with this, welcome in a comment. But Hitman: Blood Money has become truly popular. By the year, the studio was bought by the EIDOS publishing house: the developers have a significant budget, and, more importantly, the time for the implementation of all ideas.
Now the victim could not only be eliminated with a shot in the head or strangled with a pillow, but, for example, to adjust the accident or create the illusion of suicide. Such a level of detail is not possible even to many modern stealth explosives. Some fans still consider Blood Money the best part in the series. Quite deserved. The final of the career, but further in the history of IOI came a black strip.
Square Enix bought Eidos with all the studios. In Hitman: Absolution, having focused on the personality of the agent, they seemed to forget to work out levels. The locations compressed to some completely indecent sizes, unique killings and other features became many times smaller-it is not surprising that the game failed, and with it the story of the “old” Hitman ended.
Instead of continuing, the series was waiting for a soft restart. In the Hitman of the year, the developers abandoned the usual complex parts, turning the adventures of Go into the series. The new episode is a new contract.
Not all fans liked this approach, however, fans are such people who do not like anything at all. However, the game turned out to be really good: beautiful, diverse and much more corresponding to the spirit of the series than a failed Absolution. Despite the very average sales of the “first season”, Hitman 2 was not long in coming. And less than two weeks ago, Hitman 3 was released - the last game in the series.
