We recall his biography thanks to the fragment from the book Semen of Semyonovsky and Vladimir Kuleba “Pioneers”. The unity and struggle of opposites - this law expressing the essence of dialectics in domestic football proved itself to be full of over the years of the last century, when two outstanding cyper fought for the place in the “frame” of the Kyiv Dynamo: Victor Bannikov and Evgeny Rudakov.

Only the names of the streets in those places of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd streets of Mechanical Engineering speak for themselves. In the district, the giants of the industry: the ZIL and the Moskvich automobile plants, which worsen the oil refinery and tire plants, etc., and also these workers of the quarters were famous for the punks and ... wastelands on which boys from post -war childhood drove the ball from morning to evening.

The lanky and thin Zhenya was put exclusively on the goal. Having achieved great success in football, he later admitted: "As far as I remember, I was so much as a goalkeeper." The school of children's football was held, of course, in Torpedo. Naturally, because the “black and white” team is the only thing that represented the half of the huge city that is located south of the Moscow River.

After graduating from a children's school, Zhenya began to play in the torpedo double. Once, the coach of the car factory Viktor Maslov frankly talked with the young cyper and honestly explained to him that he had a strong cage of the goalkeepers, which were Albert Denisenko, Anatoly Glukhotko, Alexey Polikanov, Eduard Shapovalenko. And the “young” is still not shining in the main composition.

Therefore, the grandfather advised Eugene not to wait for the weather by the sea, but to move to some team more modest and learn to real football not on the bench, but in the game. In the year, Rudakov, at the invitation of the Nikolaev “shipbuilder”, went to the south of Ukraine, and a year later he had a chance to play in a training match with his former teammates.

As Evgeny Vasilievich later recalled, it was extremely difficult to play against his own: I wanted to show out with skill, and it was somehow embarrassed to fight against comrades, who knew closely. In the year, Evgeny Rudakov was firmly mastered on the site of the main goalkeeper in the "shipbuilder". The game, as they say, went. Rudakov had to fight for a place for a long time under the sun. In the year, the mentor of the Dynamo Kyiv was his old acquaintance - Torpedo -man Viktor Aleksandrovich Maslov. On the field, he behaved confidently, calmly, even a phlegmatic man seemed to many.
