Released 2 albums “Piano” and “Reflection”, played a solo concert of her works with an orchestra at the Moscow International House of Music. Her music is incredibly quickly gaining popularity, both in Russia and among the Western audience. Julia, you are a very versatile person: a composer-amer, a pianist, actress, recently, a clipmaker, also taught modern choreography, opened their dance school, and now perform their music with the orchestra.
Is this love for art to manifest itself since childhood? Yes, this is all from childhood. My mother was a children's choreographer, and I began to engage in classical choreography from her from the age of four, dreamed of becoming a ballerina. Then it grew into a love of modern dances. At the age of six, my mother took me to a music school, and there my abilities for improvisation and essay appeared there.
Over time, a choice stood out of which profession - ballet or music. The music won, but the dances stayed with me for a long time. Then there was a theater institute, a sample of himself as an actress, shooting allrians, creating his dance school, teaching modern choreography. All this gave me a lot in my life, formed as a creative person and contributed to returning to music and starting to compose again, but already, having a huge baggage of creative experience, knowledge and impressions.
You write your music in the style of modern classics and movie music. In the West, such musicians are also called Classical Crossover. Tell us more about this direction. This is a style that combines elements of academic and pop music. The name of this musical direction was recently established, entering the list of nominations of the Grammy music award.
This style is close to me, because in its low form you can reflect the whole range of feelings and emotions, this is a story in music without words. This genre is easy enough to perceive any audience, not even prepared for classical music. As a rule, it is such a musical direction that is used in the cinema to enhance and exacerbate feelings of the viewer.
I use this style to display my feelings and they were understandable and close to everyone who listens to me. Your music is gaining popularity not only among the Russian -speaking audience, but also in the West, which is really impressive success. What do you think contributes to the fact that your audience is rapidly increasing every day? I always wanted to express my emotions through music.
This is my language that I speak well. I remember that from childhood, having read this or that book that made a strong impression on me, I sought to immediately display my feelings in music. First love, the first disappointments, sadness, joy - all lost on the piano. It was my psychotherapy, and the people who listened to me began to cry, especially the girls. Perhaps I can convey my feelings through harmony, which affect some sincere strings of people.
As you know, you had a summer break in musical activity. What was it connected with? And why, after all, after so many years, returned? After graduating from a music school, I wanted to try myself as an actress and entered ISI at the acting faculty. During her studies, at the same time taught modern choreography. At the end of the theater institute, she did not work in the theater for long, and then gave herself up completely dance activities, opening the Ritmix dance school, where she spent about ten years.
At one point, I was injured by my legs, underwent an operation that did not particularly change something and realized that I would have to leave the dancing. After that, I managed to work in the cinema, where I received interesting creative experience, as well as friendly and professional connections that came in handy when I began to shoot video clips for my music. But the movie did not capture me so that I could completely immerse myself in this process and “get sick” to them.
As a result, I went through an individual arrangement course and began to write my musical album, thereby returning to my original and main road in creative and professional life, making such a loop. At the present time, after a long period of the pandemic and a change in the rhythm of life, probably, every person was thinking about whether he is engaged in his life.
What would you advise our reader to find your life path? Yes, I agree, the pandemic turned over the attitude of many people and showed how swellful and unstable in the world. And I had the same feeling. But at some point I realized that nothing could prevent me from writing music, publishing an album and giving online concerts in social networks. As a result, at the beginning of this year, my second album “Reflection” was released and I played live an online concert with an orchestra, which was watched in all social networks about 1 million people.
This is a new reality and it can and should be used for the good of yourself and others. There is an opinion that a person should not sit in one place, but should try something new and look for himself. Can you say that you have already found the same “way” or still in the search? I am one of those people who cannot without something new, fresh in a creative experiment, I am interested in doing what I have not yet done.
I do not exclude that a new path will appear in my life again. Most likely, he will be connected with music, and perhaps once, I will shoot a film or write a book. And here I can give only one advice - everything that you do, gives experience that is invaluable, the main thing, to live consciously, listening to your desires, feelings, not ignore your negative feelings, not be afraid of changes, but also not to take rash steps.
