The future writer in the city of Ivan Nikitin was born in an atmosphere of loneliness and isolation in himself - he was the only child in the family, and in addition, his father had a very complex character. However, in full force, the poet’s parent will show himself later, and before that the young man first entered the parish and then at the county Theological School. Successful studies in elementary school allowed Ivan Savvich Nikitin to continue his education - and he enters the Voronezh Theological Seminary.
In fact, the seminary in the middle of the 19th century was the only place where the people of novorian origin had the opportunity to get a more or less decent education. With a successful set of circumstances, after the end of such an educational institution, one could also claim higher education, which was hoped by the young Ivan Nikitin. In the Voronezh seminary, where the memory of the Serebryansky and his literary circle, which also included Koltsov, the young bourgeois son, was added to reading.
It was within the walls of this spiritual educational institution that Ivan Nikitin began his first steps in poetry. However, very soon he had to leave not only hopes for higher education and a brilliant future, but even studying in a modest seminary. The reason for this was the father of the young man - his trade gradually went to the inevitable collapse, he added to alcohol.
Unable to withstand the rude treatment of the now forever drunk husband, the mother of Ivan Nikitin fell into the same dependence, and after a while she died. It is difficult to imagine the psychological state of a sensitive seminar at that time. And misfortunes and tests did not end. Soon, the head of the family sold his factory, and an inn for the proceeds was bought.
However, Ivan Nikitin had to conduct a new business, since his parent was still seriously fond of alcohol. Skipping classes and, unable to prepare even for those that the young man was expelled from the seminary. The new environment in which Ivan Nikitin had to rotate by no means contributed to his poetic hobby - half -drunk, aggressive, ignorant people, strong drinks, a dirty tavern ...
But all this did not break a young man. He continued to write poetry, and, in addition, he was engaged in self -education. For a very long time, the poet did not dare to submit his works to the public. This was done by Ivan Savvich Nikitin only in the year, when three of his poems came to the editor of the Voronezh Provincial Vedomosti. One of them, “Rus'”, became truly successful and gained wide fame in the city.
Next year, the poems of Ivan Nikitin appear not only in Voronezh publications. For example, he was published in the popular “domestic notes”, “Muscovite”, and many others. In particular, N. in M and M, respectively, had the next poetry collection of Ivan Nikitin, and his prosaic, autobiographical work “The Seminar Diary”. Ivan Savvich Nikitin, rightfully, has the glory of the poet of “peasant”, describing the life of this estate, his problems, sometimes with serious social and even political connotation.
However, the latter was unlikely to belong to the Voronezh author-he was quite poorly versed in the political atmosphere of those years, living far from Moscow or St. Petersburg. Another feature of Ivan Nikitin’s poetry is its speculation. The fact is that the writer did not see much of what he wrote about. In particular, he never lived among the peasants, knowing about them only thanks to tavern stories, he did not see the sea that appears in a number of his works.
In the year, Ivan Savvich Nikitin gets the opportunity to open a bookstore in Voronezh along with the library, which he does. According to the poet, this project was supposed to contribute to the enlightenment of the wide masses of citizens, the eradication of their ignorance and spiritual poverty. In Voronezh, the house-museum of Ivan Savvich Nikitin is operating, there is a monument to this great representative of Russian literature.
